The Monk & Hound has taken 152 Stirling Terrace back to its historic roots as a barber shop, with a return to the laid back, no rush barbering experience of the old days.
The proprietors, Jason and Joy Abbott, hooked up at 17, married at 20, and 30 years later in 2018 embarked on a business partnership with the establishment of Monk & Hound... so far so good!
Jason completed his apprenticeship way back in 1990 at the iconic Hair by Frank Barbarich in Trinity Arcade, Perth, where he went on to hone his skills for more than 15 years. After a brief hiatus from barbering he returned to what he knows best in 2014, and is now happy to bring his skills to the good folk of Albany.
While Jason wields the scissors, Joy takes care of the customer service and manages the unique range of grooming products stocked at Monk & Hound.
